Pirate Cru 'William Hunt' Grenache 2018 750mL

$34.95

Heritage classified per Barossa Old Vine Charter, these vines have stood strong & proud for at least 100 years. This single drygrown, low yielding gnarly bush vine vineyard was planted at the end of the Great War. 99 years later 2017 vintage in Vine Vale was arguably this decade’s best, being exceptional for thick-skinned varieties such as Grenache.

Carefully vinified using longer, cool, open-vat fermentation and aged in larger old oak for approximately 24 months so to capture delicate tannins with less oxygen contact. Pretty, vibrant, juicy raspberry and cherry fruit comes to the fore with air, soft spicy berry-flavours on the palate with added nuance of fennel and dried herbs adding to the complexity and elegance. 162 dozen made.
